Functional Connectivity Microstates as a means to describe the dynamics of network organization during ERP responses

• FCμstates are short lasting connectivity patterns resulting from the discretization of temporal variations in functional/effective connectivity.
• FCμstates are prototypes of coordinated brain activity and can facilitate an intelligible representation of response dynamics.
• The mined FCμstates help us in summarizing the underlying network organization principles (e.g. modularity)
• AND further advancing our knowledge about brain response mechanisms (e.g. admissible transitions)
